Luc Salsedo: The Inventor of Socca Chips®
Luc Salsedo, a chef from Nice, is the inventor of Socca Chips®. After working in prestigious restaurants and running his eponymous restaurant in Nice for 13 years, he reinvented socca into crispy chips almost by chance to share this beautiful local tradition and make it travel.
Socca Chips® are made only with natural ingredients: chickpea flour, olive oil, salt, pepper, and sunflower oil for cooking. They come in 4 flavors: Nature – Pepper – Rosemary – Garlic, and there is also an organic version for Nature Socca Chips®.
A Family and Friends Success Story
The Socca Chips® adventure is a story of family and friends. Luc is first accompanied by his wife Christine, with whom he already managed their restaurant, then by Fabienne Rigourd, responsible for marketing and communication. These three hoteliers and restaurateurs, who met at Relais & Château de la Chèvre d’Or, ventured into the food industry together! They created a production laboratory and a distribution company, which today is a thriving business employing about fifteen people and continuing to promote Niçoise culinary traditions. In 2024, Socca Chips celebrates its 10th anniversary, marking a human adventure full of emotions, challenges, and encounters, always guided by exchange and sharing with consumers.
The development Socca Chips®
From the beginning, Socca Chips® met with great success. The initial feedback was very positive, and customers kept asking for more. Made from 100% natural ingredients, the product achieved immediate success. It is now distributed in over 1,000 points of sale, including fine grocery stores, local shops, supermarkets, hotels, and restaurants.
Evolution to Les Créations Luc Salsedo®
The company evolves under the brand "Les Créations Luc Salsedo®". After Socca Chips®, new gourmet creations imagined and designed by the Chef are now offered:
SoccApéro®: Launched in 2019, SoccApéro® is a unique, original, and simple preparation to make beautiful chickpea flour pancakes in a pan! Everything is provided. Just add water, shake for some "peps," wait a bit for the dough to rest, and it's ready. It's a new way to enhance Mediterranean culinary heritage!
Panisses Preparation: With this new product from Les Créations Luc Salsedo®, the chef invites consumers to dive into the world of homemade panisses! A simple and quick preparation to meet everyone's expectations and to vary the pleasures. We offer 4 flavors: nature, garlic/rosemary, Madagascar pepper, and spicy.
Chocolate | Chickpeas: A culinary innovation: the chocolate | chickpea blend. The novelty and originality of this chocolate lie in its composition: it combines chocolate and chickpea (Socca Chips® bits), a mix that did not exist until now. 100% natural origin. These chocolates are currently produced by Christian Camprini, Meilleur Ouvrier de France in Valbonne, and are in the process of distribution.
